Amazon offers thousands of deals for Prime Day, forcing retailers to compete
The Amazon-made “holiday” will give Prime members access to more than 100,000 deals.
BBY) responded to Prime Day deals by cutting prices on a Philips smart LED starter kit to $124.99 (compared to Amazon’s price of $199).
The e-commerce powerhouse launched the event last July to promote its $99 annual Prime loyalty program, which offers free two-day shipping and other perks. ChannelAdvisor, which works with 3,000 retailers to sell products online including marketplaces like Amazon, said mid-day Tuesday that sales were in line with Prime Day 2015 in the U.S.

But early in the day customers began complaining they were having trouble adding Prime Day sale items to their cart.
