Amazon Prime Now comes to Newcastle
The retail giant even brought the service over to London earlier this year but now it is set to expand further to cover nine more locations across the UK.
Amazon’s drive to increase Prime membership has also seen it introduce one-hour Prime Now deliveries in parts of London and Birmingham for £6.99, or free delivery within a choice of two-hour delivery windows between 8am and midnight the same day, and Prime One-Day, which gives unlimited one-day delivery.
“Prime Same Day adds to the range of benefits available to Prime members, like unlimited streaming of movies and music, unlimited photo storage and more”.
For those who do not want to pay the £79 annual fee, the cost of quick delivery will still be significant and may make click and collect services a more appealing alternative to pick. Items will then be delivered between 6PM and 10PM.
Areas now served by Prime Same Day include Birmingham, Bristol, Dudley, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Milton Keynes, Northampton, Walsall, and Wolverhampton – as well as Greater London and AL, HP, and SL postcodes.
Announcements about the expanding coverage for the varions Prime delivery options in the United Kingdom have been coming thick and fast.
The Prime Now app is available to Amazon Prime members on both iOS and Android devices, and enables users to search for eligible delivery postcodes.

This is definitely a convenient feature for Amazon customers, although it seems that the retailer’s real motive for making Prime Same Day available nationwide is that it will help increase the number of subscribers to its premium e-commerce service. Did everything go to plan?
