Amazon’s Jeff Bezos gets cameo in new ‘Star Trek’ film
According to IMDB, Bezos is credited as playing “Starfleet Official” in Star Trek Beyond and is going to be some sort of alien being in the process. And you know, it was very interesting.
Amazon founder and CEO Jeff Bezos appears listed in the credits for Paramount Pictures’ July 22 sequel, Star Trek Beyond. With a role in “Star Trek Beyond” a part of which is located on a primeval, gyroscopic Federation starbase, he might be the franchise’s premier on-screen space colonist that hopes to construct a space colony.
Lin said the billionaire CEO arrived with plenty of security for a day of filming and waited patiently for crews to shoot the single tracking shot that includes his character, which is a cameo in the film. Both producer J.J. Abrams and director Justin Lin confirmed Bezos’ involvement to the Associated Press on Friday while the two were promoting the film.
Being the founder of Amazon has its perks.
Bezos has said publicly talked about his love for space in the past, he did buy and operate a commercial space flight company after all.
Jung continued: “Someone like Jeff Bezos – where you’re like – you imagine the world is his oyster”. But seeing how he came to the Star Trek set with a huge entourage, he knew, instantly, that Bezos was someone important.
‘I was there for the bit with his like nine bodyguards and three limos.
‘I had no idea who he was. And now he gets to live out the ultimate Star Trek fan’s fantasy, as well – playing a part in the soon-to-be-released film, “Star Trek Beyond”.
“Our vision was, in the long-term, [Alexa] would become the “Star Trek” computer”. “You can ask it anything, ask it to do anything for you, or ask it to search for things for you and it will be easy to discuss with, in a natural way”.
Bezos has been very open about his love for Star Trek.
‘And we would fight over who got to be Captain Kirk or Spock or – and somebody usually played the computer, too. But really, how are you going to get better than that?
