A Tennessee teenager reported missing last month was found Tuesday morning in Smyth County, Virginia, according to a report from WDBJ in Roanoke.
An Amber Alert had been issued after Wilson had left her home in Surgoinsville on June 22nd with 41-year-old Ben Shook.
Investigators are intensifying their search for missing 14-year-old Hayleigh Wilson and known sex offender Benjamin Shook in Wythe county. The two were later captured on video surveillance later that day, between 4-5 p.m.at the Exxon gas station on Highway 16 in Sugar Grove, Va.
A Tennessee girl has been found with a sex offender, prompting the cancellation of an Amber Alert that was issued for her in late June. He has a warrant out of Georgia for not registering as a sex offender and was just released from prison in 2014 for sexual exploitation of a minor.
Hayleigh is described as a white female with brown hair and hazel eyes, and wears glasses.
Marshals believe the Wilson met Shook online. The Marshals Service feels that due possible sighting and path of travel, Shook and Wilson may possibly be in Wythe County and are asking that all county residents be on the lookout for the two.
