Amber Heard charged with dog smuggling
He’s been based in Queensland for the past five months filming the latest Pirates Of The Caribbean.
The wife of Johnny Depp, allegedly, sneaked the dogs on his private jet when they visited the land down under.
Actress Amber Heard, 29, is probably known as well today for illegally smuggling her two dogs into Australia last May than being married to actor Johnny Depp or appearing in films like “Pineapple Express”, “Zombieland” and “Magic Mike XXL“.
The 52-year-old was recognisable by his iconic mustache and goatee as he covered his dark hair with a hat.
Since the Amber Heard dog fiasco took place, Depp appears to be trying to make a positive impression in Australia.
According to the New York Daily News, Amber Heard is facing some serious charges: two counts illegally importing the dogs and one count of producing a false document for information on an incoming passenger vehicle.
What will be her fate? She now could face a fine of $200,000 or up to 10 years in prison.
Heard was issued a summons to appear in a Queensland court on September 7.
“If we start letting movie stars- even though they’ve been the sexiest man alive twice – to come into our nation (with pets), then why don’t we just break the laws for everybody?” he said in May. Joyce said of Depp.
The prosecutor’s office revealed the info on Heard’s charges, but refused to answer queries as to why Depp was not included in the charge, saying that the case is still ongoing and is subject to change.
In a report from Mail Online, the Department of Agriculture explained their tight process in a statement, “All animals entering Australia must have an import permit, and have undergone relevant testing and health checks signed off by a government veterinarian from the exporting country to ensure pests and diseases from overseas are not brought here”.
And at the time, the actress dismissed the case, insisting it was just politicians trying “to go for their 15 minutes [of fame]”.
It’s unknown whether Depp will also face charges, and authorities wouldn’t comment as to why he hadn’t yet.
