AMC’s ‘Preacher’ Enlists Jackie Earle Haley as Key Comics Character
The series reportedly received a ten-episode order for its first season, making it possible that Quincannon will be the major antagonist as Jesse, Tulip and Cassidy begin their search for God. The series is an adaptation of an eponymously titled graphic novel, and has previously added big names including Dominic Cooper, Ruth Negga and Joseph Gilgun.
The actor will again get his evil on in AMC’s “Preacher”, and we’ve got the details for ya. He has a tense relationship with the lead character Jesse Custer, a preacher in Texas. “The chief employer in town, Odin runs Quincannon Meat & Power, a 125-year-old family run cattle slaughterhouse business”.
Not only is Quincannon a loathsome, power-mad individual and a member of the KKK, but he has also a dark secret hidden on the grounds of his meat processing plant.
Throughout the comics, both Jesse and Odin clash many times.
Now, a piece of casting news has revealed just how far from the source material writer/producers Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, and Sam Catlin and planning to stray.
Plot concept: Preacher is about Jesse Custer, a conflicted Preacher in a small Texas town who merges with a creature that has escaped from heaven and develops the ability to make anyone do anything he says. Later, the preacher discovers that Quincannon is having sex with a meat mannequin. Along with his ex-girlfriend, Tulip, and an Irish vampire named Cassidy, the three embark on a journey to literally find God.
“[We want viewers to] still be surprised”. No premiere date has been set for the upcoming AMC show.
