AMC Sets Better Call Saul Season 2 Premiere Date
“Better Call Saul” is set to return in February.
According to Variety, the critically-acclaimed show will return for its second season on AMC on Monday, February 15th.
AMC has also released a couple of trailers for the next season of Better Call Saul, but unfortunately they’re light on new footage. Season one found Jimmy stumble upon a large class-action lawsuit, which led to a promising job opportunity at a large firm.
It is not yet clear when worn-down lawyer Jimmy McGill (Bob Odenkirk) will shed his ill-fitting suits and cruddy vehicle for the overpriced wardrobe and Constitution-adorned office of one Saul Goodman, but now fans at least havea date for the next chapter in Jimmy’s story. “As for Mike Ehrmantraut, he’s pulled deeper into a world he was sure he’d left forever”, said Peter Gould, executive producer and showrunner. Tuco’s (Raymond Cruz) inclusion was fine, but it paled in comparison to Saul’s interactions with his brother Chuck (Michael McKean), whose character took an unexpected turn to end the season. That’s a day after “The Walking Dead’s” return for part 2 of its season.
The series became an instant breakout hit, given that its predecessor ushered it in with two simultaneous Emmy wins for best drama series in the final two seasons. And while I adore Jonathan Banks as Mike Ehrmantraut, his appearance often felt like it belonged in his own spinoff that would have been far more hard-boiled and noir than Better Call Saul was. The series is produced by Sony Pictures Television. Season 1 episodes exclude specials, encores and mini-series.
