AMD Radeon Crimson Graphics Driver 16.9.2 Hotfix Is Up for Grabs
You can check out the full release notes as well as find links to download the new Radeon Software Crimson Edition 16.9.2 Hotfix drivers for your OS choice over at AMD’s support page. This one aligns with the Ultimate Edition SKU of Forza Horizon 3 from Microsoft Studios, which unlocks in a little over a day. This is of course a tradition which NVIDIA has kept for quite some time, and AMD has recently done a great job mimicking their success in the practice. Nvidia updated its GeForce Game Ready driver package to version 372.90, which adds graphics optimizations for Forza Horizon 3. AMD also included a DX11 Crossfire profile for Dreadnaught and fixes for almost a dozen former known issues. It should also fix things like mouse pointer corruption on RX 400 series graphics.
Flickering display may be experienced on portrait Eyefinity display configurations when launching or exiting DirectX®12 applications.
Intermittent crash may be experienced in Mozilla Firefox while doing video playback on some Radeon RX 400 Series graphics products.
The new driver brings a good collection of fixed issues with several wrinkles ironed out for RX400 series owners, DirectX 12 users, fixes for a couple of Deus Ex: Mankind Divided issues, and more.
Radeon Settings may sometimes experience an “application has stopped” error after modifying game profiles on Windows 10 Anniversary Addition.
Small amounts of stutter may be experienced when playing or watching cinematic videos in Deus Ex: Mankind Divided when using AMD CrossFire mode and DirectX 11.
HDMI® Audio may be lost after resuming from standby on Windows 10 Anniversary Edition. I count nine known issues that AMD is working on for upcoming driver updates, three of which involve flickering in parts of the Overwatch, Paragon and Dreadnought games.
