American doctor defends lion hunt, says he followed rules
Palmer hadn’t even seen the story yet about Minnesota-based dentist Walter Palmer, who was already under intense scrutiny for killing Cecil the lion in Zimbabwe.
An global outcry erupted after an American dentist killed a well-known lion named Cecil in Zimbabwe last month in an allegedly illegal hunt.
Seski “promptly notified Zimbabwean authorities and provided them with all of the information and paperwork required by law”, Linsin said of Seski’s July hunt.
The Zimbabwean government did not say what species of animals were hunted in the allegedly illegal safari, which authorities say was conducted without a quota or permit.
For Pittsburgh resident and Zimbabwe native Rashid Hassan, the recent illegal poaching of Cecil the lion and other animals in the national park of his homeland is sickening.
Dennis Campbell, executive director of the sportsman’s club Super Slam: North American Big Game, and a veteran of lion hunts in Tanzania and South Africa, said he was appalled by the allegations in Palmer’s case, and was disappointed that the incident has brought scorn to a hunting community he insisted largely follows ethical practices. The lion was lured out of Hwange park, wounded with a bow and arrow after which tracked down and shot, conservationists stated. The AP also called and knocked on the door at Seski’s house, which is set back among some woods outside Pittsburgh.
Alaska Bowhunting Supply had a photo up on Facebook of Seski and a dead elephant, with a caption claiming that it was the sixth African Elephant the doctor has killed.
A handful of Seski’s neighbors said he mostly keeps to himself and that he’d been buying up the land around his property. The elephant went a short distance and died. “With outcomes like this, no marvel Jan is a agency supporter of our Extremely-Magnum Arrow System”.
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the Department of Transportation also should forbid any airline or shipping company from carrying such ill-gotten “trophies” into the United States.
Another hunter who knows Seski said he gives all hunters “a bad name”.
Mr Kaplan said: “Daphne and I are thrilled that the match has been achieved, and are grateful to all who have given to WildCRU’s appeal”.
The owner of the land that Seski hunted on has been arrested and is reportedly working with the authorities who are now seeking the American doctor. “Everything was done aboveboard”.
Dorrington stated he transformed his cattle ranch right into a recreation reserve within the 1980s. He said funds from trophy hunting of antelope are essential to conserving wildlife.
The 40-year-old says he’s since changed his phone number.
The conservation model that has hunters paying for the protection of animals started in the U.S. and has been adopted around the world.
The hunter’s unabashed killing of animals, several others of which she also posted online, has thrust her into the national spotlight – forcing her to try to defend a practice which, as of late, has been roundly condemned.
“The logic is that if you keep killing them, they will become endangered”, Menendez spokesman Steven Sandberg said Sunday.
