‘American Horror Story 6’ premiere and theme, explained
The 23-year-old actor revealed he will appear on the FX series’ new season by posting a since-deleted photo of the script Tuesday on Instagram. The first episode also previews how different this whole season will be from its predecessors which had a traditional narrative.
Jacob Artist, that’s Puck’s younger brother Jake in Glee to you and I, was revealed to be a part of the cast for the next season of American Horror Story.
“My Roanoke Nightmare” focuses on Matt (Andre Holland) and Shelby (Lily Rabe), a pharmaceutical rep and yoga teacher who moved from Los Angeles to Roanoke, North Carolina, after Shelby miscarried and Matt got attacked.
Despite being shrouded by mystery, American Horror Story fans can be certain that the season will be filled with hair-raising episodes that is sure to haunt dreams. This means the series will likely dive into the mysterious disappearance of more than 100 colonists in 1590 in Roanoke (a.k.a “The Lost Colony”), with the only clue left behind was the Native American tribe name “Croatoan” etched into a tree.
Excited fans can watch the American Horror Story Season 6 premiers tonight at FX.
We’ve seen this tackled before, most famously by Stephen King and the two movies that resulted from his story The Mist. But it cuts to re-enactments in which these same characters are played by Sarah Paulson and Cuba Gooding Jr. Yes, really. Shelby and Matt’s flawless life is abruptly shattered when – out celebrating Shelby’s pregnancy and Matt’s promotion – Matt is injured in a gang initiation/hate crime attack. Other characters include Kathy Bates, playing a Roanoke Colony ghost and Angela Bassett, playing Matt Miller’s sister. Instead of airing a promo for the second episode, as is customary, viewers were told on air to visit the show’s social media accounts following the west coast broadcast for a sneak peek of next week’s episode. It’s no longer trying to throw ridiculous things at you, like a guy getting sexually violated by a creature with a pointy metal dildo or a murderous threesome including Matt Bomer and Lady Gaga. Going into the season with no idea of what’s happening was refreshing in the time where everyone knows everything.
There was a disclaimer saying the story it is “inspired by true events” yet when teeth began raining from the sky fans were just confused – and that wasn’t the only gripe.
