‘American Horror Story’ Killed Off A Fan Favorite And We’re All Pissed
On a night of television when there were, arguably, two American horror stories airing (AHS: Roanoke and the Final Presidential Debate), many fans chose fiction over reality. Our understanding now is that all but one of the reunion show’s participants will end up dying, of which Murphy told E! A subtle connection is revealed between American Horror Story: Roanoke and a titular character from Freak Show Dandy Mott, who was disclosed to be the last descendant of the Mott family. If Real Matt really did hook up with Real Forest Witch, does this mean some kind of nature baby is on its way? With Matt and Shelby’s story seemingly resolved last week, the focus shifted to the behind-the-scenes crew of My Roanoke Nightmare, which turns out to have been a major hit.
Gee, what a great idea!
With the cast given phones to record their own perspective from their time in the house, the promo for next week’s “Chapter 7” further shows that they will be scared straight.
The actor cliques off and try to poke holes in the stories of those they played. That’s why she’s willing to head back to Roanoke, if that’s what it takes to hash things out with her husband again. Because she knows exactly how horror movies work, she does not stop to see who it is. Twist #2, if you’re counting. I LOVE the new direction, and now the question is, who survives and what will be left of them? Not, like, the most awesome sign. In the fourth and fifth twists, we see that Sid serves her with a restraining order and she apparently went a little off the reservation. In an episode before being admitted to a treatment facility, Agnes ran down Hollywood Boulevard dressed as the Butcher, brandishing a cleaver and assaulting random passer-bys. The woman has gone insane. But all three are eventually persuaded to return – Shelby because she wants to be close to Matt (more on that in a second), and Lee because she wants to clear her name. The weirdness and horror of this death was enough for one of the producers to take off in her car-finally, a smart person in a horror show! An accidental chainsaw decapitation is shocking. Instead, it should be understood that the Roanoke story won’t be finished with the end of the season. After the footage of Diana getting attacked in her auto by Pigman, the show let us know that everyone dies during the filming.
But it’s not all bad news, as the actress who played Shelby, Audrey Tindell (Sarah Paulson, now with a pixie haircut and a delightful British accent) became newly engaged to her costar, the free spirited Rory Monnaghan (a red-headed Evan Peters). What could go wrong? She warns him something off is happening before she drives off, leaving the colonial house in the dust. The tenth twist is that Agnes, the Butcher, smashes the window and things immediately start going insanely wrong. The plan is these people have to spend three days inside the house. “This is the assembled found footage”. That’s the 11th twist, but who’s counting? Rory searches the upstairs but finds no pig-man. She flees downstairs and into Dominic’s arms.
