‘American Horror Story’ recap: The problem with Millennials
After Ryan Murphy revealed the return of Taissa Farmiga to “American Horror Story: Roanoke”, fans of the series have been not-so-patiently waiting for the actress – who we last saw in “Coven” – to return to FX’s genre powerhouse.
Audrey wants to know where Killian came from, but he’s upset because no one has been in touch with him – though Sydney told him to be at the house at a certain time with no phone. Cautiously, they leave the production truck.
Unaware Lee is possessed by the Butcher, Monet taunts the alcoholic and promptly gets pushed over the stairs’ railway, dead as a doornail.
Scenes from the season six finale promo video show Lee in court, presumably on trial for the murder of Monet (Angela Bassett) and the three teens from the My Roanoke Nightmare fan site. Lee finds the tape and tries to delete the footage of her admitting to her ex-husband’s murder. But speculations claimed that Farmiga will portray the role of one of the backpackers who stumbled upon the horrors surrounding the colonial farmhouse in North Carolina during the dreaded Blood Moon. The Polks are numerous, if anything, so one stabs Dylan as another corners Audrey and Monet. The woman is nowhere to be found. Sophie checks inside the wrecked auto and finds the dead body of the woman they were following. But Audrey has a video camera and tape, and states that something bad must have happened to her for her to have left that behind. We’d watch Evan Peters’ new A-lister Rory Monahan, Cheyenne Jackson’s TV producer Sidney, André Holland’s horny witch-lover Matt, Lily Rabe’s struggling wife Shelby, Kathy Bates’ unhinged thespian Agnes, and Cuba Gooding Jr.’s Hollywood hotshot Dominic all bleed out before we’d have room to guess. “And I’m going to tell the world about what’s really happening here, about the police cover-up!” Scathach showed up and worked her dark magic, somehow transferring The Butcher’s dark soul into Lee. A figure comes and serves her a pig heart, and apparently pig heart, like tequila, can make you do some questionable things. Lee slaughters some random teenage hikers, burning two of them alive, and hunts down her fellow survivors. Audrey is shot and killed, which means Lee is the only survivor from “Return to Roanoke: Three Days in Hell”.
Audrey, not making the best decision, manages to grab the cop’s gun and starts shooting at Lee. Lee walks away and shuts the door. I’m just not sure yet how they’re going to bring this one to a satisfying conclusion. Her reluctant partner went along with the plan and soon they were back at the house where things were getting real. Then, Dylan is killed. Audrey has the footage though, and when the women watch it, they see Lee’s confession. Sophie calls the cops to report all of this f***ery, but, duh, the police do nothing.
The next time we see the trio, they’re talking to the police. Not that it’ll help them survive, of course. So what happens next is especially horrifying. Sophie sees Milo impaled and then burned alive, knowing the same is about to happen to her.
A title card pops up, explaining that what follows is the “raw footage from Todd’s iCloud account”.
They are dragged to crowd of the Others, and they both beg them, Lee in particular, not to do what they’re about to. She begs him to get her “out of this hellhole”, and she’s led to a nearby patrol auto. Before Audrey can open fire on the “real” murderer, a group of officers shoot her down. We’ve already discovered in episode 6 that we weren’t watching what we thought we were watching, and that ends up being the case again.
