Amitabh Bachchan not been approached for Incredible India campaign
When there were reports of actor Aamir Khan being “removed” as the brand ambassador for the Incredible India campaign, the Government of India cleared the air saying that the actor’s contract had ended and he wasn’t ousted as such.

“No one has asked me (to take up the job) and neither have I been approached so far”.
The actor is set to replace Aamir Khan as brand ambassador of the company after the agency refused to renew Khan’s contract over intolerance comments past year. “I don’t think that people are removed just because they did not agree or said something that is controversial”, the Piku actor was quoted as saying.

The parliamentary standing committee on transport, tourism and culture today sought to know whether the Centre was planning to bring in Amitabh Bachchan as the new brand ambassador as media reports suggested.
“Amitabh Bachhan is a great actor and I don’t have any objection on this name (for Incredible India campaign)”. Others who are under consideration are Deepika Padukone, Priyanka Chopra and Akshay Kumar.
Khan, whose remarks on perceived intorelance in the country recently sparked a massive political controversy, said he respected the government’s decision.
“It was the [private] agency which hired him”. It is always an honour for me to be of service of my country, and this is how it will always be.
