Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan & Akshay Kumar amongst world’s highest paid

Bollywood’s richest stars are even richer than some of Hollywood’s loftiest names, the Forbes list of highest paid actors for this year reveals.

Bollywood stalwart Amitabh Bachchan has starred in more than 150 movies in his 50 year career. Their earnings have been estimated to be $33.5 million in the past year. He continues to earn top rupee for his roles in flicks such 2014’s “Bhoothnath Returns“, Forbes noted. Coming to Salman Khan, he is one of the hot favorite star in India. His debut movie as a lead actor was 1989 romantic hit – Maine Pyar Kiya.

“Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar has appeared in some 150 movies since his 1992 breakthrough in “Khiladi“.

Describing Shah Rukh as “India’s Leonardo DiCaprio”, Forbes ranked him 18th on the list with earnings of Dollars 26 million. Five names from Bollywood appear on the high-powered list, three of them in the top 10. He banks a decent pay check from movies such as “Roy” and “Bombay Velvet“, read another statement in Forbes. Actor-filmmaker Jackie Chan is in the second position with $50 million and at number three stands Furious 7 actor Vin Diesel and his $47 million.

The list has been topped by actor Robert Downey Jr with earnings of United States dollars 80 million that skyrocketed thanks to top-grossing movies such as Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Others among the top ten were Bradley Cooper (4), Adam Sandler (5), Tom Cruise (6), and Mark Wahlberg (10).
