Amtrak asks woman if she’s stuck in elevator — 7 months late
In the hilarious exchange, the transportation service reached out to Amanda Carpenter SEVEN MONTHS after her scary and frustrating ordeal back in February.
Well, no. Amanda Carpenter’s plea for help had actually gone out seven months earlier, and Amtrak failed to notice the elapsed time.
While others were out celebrating Valentine’s Day, she was very much alone.
Last February, a woman tweeted that she was trapped inside an Amtrak elevator at the Baltimore-Washington International airport in Baltimore, Maryland.
She evidently was freed from her brief captivity in a mediocre airport elevator soon after, as evidenced by her tweets soon after.
“Not our finest hour”, acknowledged the company in a followup tweet.
“Amtrak’s social media team missed the message because Ms Carpenter didn’t include “@Amtrak” or any hashtags that might’ve popped up in their notifications.
Luckily, help did arrive shortly after she tweeted out her predicament in February.
Seven months later, on September 7, Amtrak inquired about Carpenter’s status.
“We are sorry to hear that”, the company said in a widely shared response on Twitter.
Amtrak don’t just swoop in to save the day when you need them to.
Amtrak is taking its lumps after a Twitter misfire.
“Oh my thank you for this but I was trapped months ago”.
