Amy Schumer and Senator Schumer Team Up Against Guns
On Sunday, comedian Amy Schumer displayed her somber side when she was seen with Sen.
Amy Schumer joined the lawmaker last summer to call for new legislative measures.
The 34 year old comedian and actor initially launched the campaign back in August in the aftermath of the deadly shooting that occurred in Lafayette, Louisiana during a day-time screening of her recent movie Trainwreck.
The legislation demanded ending a loophole in which firearms can be purchased at gun shows and online without initial checks.
The star and her cousin are enlisting the public’s help in forcing legislators to vote on Sen.
Her cousin, Senator Charles Schumer, knows that. Now the cousins are teaming up again for a new Congress plan which Schumer explains in an ABC News video.
Standing beside the actress, Senator Schumer said, “Live from New York: We’re aiming for change”.
“I’m not sure why this man chose my movie to end those two lives and injure nine others, but it was very personal for me”, said Amy.
The victims were Mayci Breaux, 21, and Jillian Johnson, 33.
Introducing the hashtag #AimingForChange, they are asking Americans to speak out on social media, as well as call, write and march to stop gun violence.
Her tour also is scheduled for Pittsburgh, Nashville, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, St. Louis, Charlotte and Seattle.
