Amy Schumer signs book deal for $8-$10 million
Entertainment Weekly reports that the Emmy Award-winning actress, who was raised in Rockville Centre, has sold a book for between $8 million and $10 million, after an auction among publishers. For right now the working title for the anticipated book is The Girl With the Lower Back Tattoo, and is already framing to be very Trainwreck-like but in book form. A source said that the final deal was at $9 million.
The Trainwrecked star’s confirmation came in the wake of a statement by publisher Gallery Books.
The publisher told The Associated Press on Wednesday the book is now untitled and is expected to “offer personal and observational stories from Schumer that range from the raunchy to the romantic, the heartfelt to the harrowing”.
The deal exceeds the US$5 million advance that fellow comedian Tina Fey received for her New York Times bestseller Bossypants.
Comedienne Amy Schumer has landed a lucrative publishing deal for her debut book. Schumer or her rep hasn’t commented on the rumored earnings of her book.
Schumer’s coming off a stellar year that included Trainwreck’s release and an Emmy win for her hit show Inside Amy Schumer. The comedy was loosely based on her own life, so it seems safe to say that fans may respond just as well to her memoir.
