An Assistant Principal Was Reassigned For Her Appearance In A Music Video
One of the two people in that couple turned out to be Esther Adler-O’Keefe, assistant principal of Long Island’s Southampton High School, as NBC reports.
A Southampton principal has stepped down from her position after appearing in a video that features Trey Songz and rapper JR.
An assistant high school principal has landed herself in hot water for her appearance in a music video starring Trey Songz and rapper J.R. called “Best Friends”. The video now has over 1.4 million views, and it makes you wonder just how many of these were because of O’Keefe.
“The video in question showcases behaviors and language use that is not promoted by the Southampton School District”, said Dr. Farina.
Adler-O’Keefe denied any knowledge of the contents of the video or song in an e-mailed statement to Southampton Press. J.R. proceeds to invite Trey Songz and a battalion of video chicks to have a big, nasty party. Adler-O’Keefe responded that she’d had no idea what the larger context of the video would be outside of her six-word role.
She told 27east that she was unaware of the “content, lyrics, and title of the video and song” when she agreed to be in it, but has still received criticism from school officials.
“Had I known of such content or lyrics, I certainly would not have participated in any fashion”, she told The Southhampton Press in September, after the vid went viral among high school students.
She did not say how she became involved in the salacious video, shot over the summer break. “Just remember, security’s here”, she says, then leaves with her on-screen husband. “Additionally, this is not representative of who we are as a district, nor of our students and staff”.
The school she worked at wasn’t pleased after learning of Adler-O’Keefe’s cameo in the expletive-and-twerk-filled clip.
