Anantapur train accident – Suresh Prabhu condoles death of passengers, orders
According to reports, Karnataka MLA Venkatesh Nayak as well as the truck driver have been reported to be killed when the four coaches of the express train was derailed under the impact because of the collision with the truck.
“The boulder got deposited onto the S1 coach which has been the most damaged and accounted for all deaths until now except one, the truck’s cleaner”, said Mr Rajasekhar Babu.

While six people, including a lawmaker of the state’s opposition Congress party Venkatesh Naik, were killed on the spot, those injured have been admitted to a nearby hospital, the official said.
The mangled remains of a coach of the Bangalore-Nanded Express which rammed into a lorry near Madakasira Railway Gate in Anantapur district on Monday morning. The Anantapur district borders Karnataka and is located around 350 km from Hyderabad.
Union Railways minister Suresh Prabhu is monitoring the situation and he expressed his condolences for the diseased. It resulted in derailment of four coaches, said Railway Ministry spokesperson.
“We are expecting the line to be cleared for traffic by 4 PM and till then trains would be diverted due to the mishap”, Saxena said.

He said that the cause of the accident, as to whether the brakes of the trolley failed or its driver was drunk or he fell asleep, would be ascertained in the investigation. “My deepest condolences to the families of the victims”.
