And the Kimye baby’s name is … Saint West
Kardashian later posted a photo of herself holding hands with West to Twitter, along with the caption: “He’s here!”.
Daughter North’s brother was born Saturday, weighing in at 8 pounds, 1 ounce. “Mother and son are doing well”, she continued.
The baby boy, who has remained nameless since his birth on December 5, has been given the name Saint West, which by definition means, “a person acknowledged as holy or virtuous and typically regarded as being in heaven after death”. Before he was born, Kim shared, “I feel like it [the name] will just come to us”. Kardashian’s ever-opportunistic sisters Khloé and Kourtney sell the Kardashian Kids line at retailers including Nordstrom and Babies “R” Us.
On Saturday, Kardashian and West announced the birth of their son via Kardashian’s Twitter account, posting: “He’s here!”
But two days after Kim gave birth to their first son, they named him Saint. Online, the star moved up her due date, which was originally on Christmas Day, due to health concerns.
Suspicion was rife the famous pair were going to name their child Robert after an insider told Us Weekly they wanted to pay tribute to Kim’s late father. However, Kim Kardashian warmed up to the moniker Easton but, husband Kanye West was not so keen on the name either.
Saint makes a lot of sense for a son of the artist whose 2013 album was titled Yeezus and contained a song called “I am a God“.
The name Saint featured in the list of names rejected by the department in 2011, alongside other religious references: Messiah, Christ, Bishop and Lucifer.
