Andrew Bogut realises it’s pointless rebounding for Steph Curry
– Stephen Curry on his father being honored by the Hornets Wednesday.
Stephen Curry, named the Western Conference Player of the Month for October/November, started a bid for the same award in December with a 40-point game Wednesday in Charlotte that included a 28-point third quarter.
After his incredible third quarter, Curry sat out during the fourth to get some rest while the Warrior’s strong bench cemented the victory. The final score was 116-99, thanks to Curry’s impressive third quarter.
“Dell had a pregame message for his son, joking, “Do not ruin my night.”.
“It was a cool atmosphere to play in”, he said.
“It was a good night”, Stephen Curry said.
“I just attacked early and tried to get to the basket early”, he said.
“When you get on a streak like that, it’s fun”, he said. “You try to make him work hard, but I don’t think we’ve seen anybody shoot like him – that’s pretty impressive”.
“I knew what I signed up for when I went to Davidson”.
Curry left Davidson as the school’s all-time leader in three-point field goals made, 30-point games and total points scored according to Sports Reference.
Steph didn’t even have to play the fourth quarter because of the Warriors’ lead.
“He didn’t make any guarantees”, Curry said with a smile. “The whole game, actually”. Both teams came out and played with pace. “He’s in his hometown and he’s the best player in the league and he wants to put on a show”. “He did just that”.
Andre Drummond, the worst free throw shooter in National Basketball Association history, hit a pair from the line with 14.3 seconds left to tie the game at 112, and Eric Bledsoe missed an off-balance jumper at the buzzer.
Charlotte cut the Warriors’ lead to eight after a clear path foul led to an extra possession.
The Warriors shot 52.3 percent from the field and 47.1 percent from beyond the arc. Curry played for the Hornets from 1988-98 and now serves as one of the team’s ambassadors and broadcasters… Coming off of a championship last season, they’re clearly a team that’s going to be gunning for the title this year as well.
The Warriors made some more history, too. Combined with four wins to close out last season, the Warriors now have a 24-game regular-season winning streak. They stand with the 1884 St. Louis Maroons baseball club of the Union Association.
Hornets Player of the GameFrank Kaminsky had his best outing as a professional, finishing with a career-high 16 points on 5-of-8 shooting, which included a ideal 3-of-3 from three-point range.
George averaged 27.2 points, 8.1 rebounds and 4.4 assists in those 16 games. The Warriors are some kind of machine, and at this point, it doesn’t seem likely that they can be stopped any time soon.
Never mind that the Warriors committed 21 turnovers.
The fans in Charlotte, some of whom were wearing his jersey, showed their appreciation.
