Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OTA Update for Sony Xperia C4 likely
With Android 6.0 Marshmallow debuting on both the Nexus 5X as well as the Nexus 6P (not forgetting the Pixel C as well), it makes flawless sense for smartphone manufacturers to take stock of the current situation in order to ensure that their collection of smartphones, too, would jolly well be up to date as far as possible. Most Lollipop-powered phones easily receive the 5.1 version and we’re expecting the list would be longer.
In July, Sony Mobile, headquartered in Tokyo, confirmed that the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update was being rolled out to the Xperia Z2 and Z3 series.
As promised a few weeks ago, the software update for the pair is nearly ready.
As owners of these devices had not yet received any version of Lollipop, the Android 5.1.1 update will bring plenty of noticeable changes including the new Material Design look. Other than the new UI design, the update includes more customization options you get finger control over the volume, silent and alerts functions.
LinkedIn integration is now available, as well as information about meetings and participants, which will show up in Calendar.
And since smartwatches are in, Android 5.1 Lollipop will bring SmartWear integration. Last but not least, you’ll be able to snap selfies remotely using Sony’s SmartWatch 3 product. Now latest reports suggest that Xperia C4 is also expected to get Lollipop’s final software update through an official download over the air (OTA), Venture Capital Post reported.
It’s always good to see how the rollout of updates progresses, so if you have the Sony Xperia M2 or Xperia M2 Aqua we’d like to hear from you.
