Android 5.1 Lollipop Arrives on the HTC One M9 Developer Edition
The HTC One M9 Developer Edition handsets are now receiving the Android 5.1 Lollipop through OTA (over-the-air). We can only hope right?
While there are probably very few people who own the One M9 Developer Edition, this should be a piece of good news to most people who have the regular One M9, as it means the Android 5.1.1 update for the smartphone should not be so far around the corner. No specific date was revealed for September, but we can keep guessing until it’s officially announced. There is still no confirmation whether the Android 5.1.1 will also be rolled out on the LG G3 and LG G Flex 2. If you splurged on a One M9 developer edition, you’ll be pleased to learn that Android 5.1 is headed your way.
Unfortunately, the earlier version of these phones were not so fortunate to receive the latest upgrading of Android.
According to Android Pit, Android 5.1.1 Lollipop is now being prepared for the LG G2.
The G3 was actually one of the first phones to pick up the Android 5.0 Lollipop update after the Google launched into the wild all those months ago.
As great as these improvements sound, LG G2 users won’t be able to see them this month or the next. The software update is sized 570MB and will bring Build Number G920VU20F7Y to Galaxy S6 and G925PVPU2B0F7 to Galaxy S6 Edge. Default cameras on the Samsung smartphones were incapable of supporting RAW photography. However, we believe that the G2 owners in LG’s home market of South Korea are expected to receive the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update before the rollout begins for the worldwide variant. However, owners can shoot RAW photos in DNG format by using a third-party camera app.
When the android 5.1.1 arrives, it’ll show a notification.
As of this writing, AT&T and Verizon Wireless haven’t confirmed any data on rolling out the android 5.1.1 for his or her versions of the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge.
