Android 6.0 Marshmallow update available for Moto X Style in India
If you fancy trying out the custom ROM yourself, check out the official CyanogenMod download page. With Android Marshmallow, Google promises a better battery optimization, the Nexus Imprint fingerprint scanner, the ability to manage app permissions natively and Google Now on Tap which shows related results around a movie, restaurant, place, etc.
Those who would like to flash them should keep in mind that they might encounter a few bugs here and there, though that’s not going to irk users who have installed CyanogenMod ROMs on their handsets previously.
As always, nightly builds (and the first batch of them in particular) are not created to be very stable, and there’s no guarantee that everything will work properly.
At the moment CyanogenMod 13 (CM13), a nightly build of the snapshot CM12.1 launched in September is only available for a handful of devices.
Additionally, those looking to perform a dirty flash from CM12.1 must update their third party add-ons, such as Xposed or OpenGapps, immediately after flashing CM13.
CyanogenMod is open source software, but it’s related to the commercial Cyanogen OS firmware which smartphone makers can opt to install on devices before they’re shipped to customers.
The Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update may have been released without too many people noticing it.
Des Smith of T-Mobile said that the Android 6.0 M version MRA58X will be released for the Google Nexus 6 handset after it will get approved, Tech Times reported.
The company recently announced the roll out of android Marshmallow 6.0 to the users of Moto X Style along with the users of Moto X (2nd Gen) and the Moto X Pure Edition (2015).
