Android 6.0 Marshmallow update now available in India
Owners of the Motorola Moto X Style in India have begun receiving the upgrade to Android 6.0 Marshmallow. With Android Marshmallow, Google promises a better battery optimization, the Nexus Imprint fingerprint scanner, the ability to manage app permissions natively and Google Now on Tap which shows related results around a movie, restaurant, place, etc.
The team also recommends that if users have any unofficial, self-made or XDA builds of the CM13 source code, then they should delete them completely before downloading the nightlies.
There will be some changes to the Moto Enhancement features under the Android M update as well. This is the version of CyanogenMod that incorporates improvements found in Android Marshmallow. This means that CM13 will also bring improved battery backup in its upcoming ROMS. CM13 nightly builds are available for the OnePlus One (bacon), Nexus 7 (deb & flo), LG G4 (h815), Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 (mondrianwifi), LG GPad 7.0 (v400 & v410), LG G3 Verizon (vs985), and Moto X 2014 (victara). More devices will be added in the following weeks, so you should keep an eye on our Update and How To section to learn when these builds are ready for download. It further said that, “We’d advise these folks to stay on the SNAPSHOT train, and we’ll have a quality approved SNAPSHOT for CM13 sometime Jan”. Second, updating to CyanogenMod 13 will also require updating your smartphone’s Google apps via a service like Xposed or OpenGapps. This comes just 10 days after the company announced that it will start seeding the update soon. It plans to release a higher-end flagship device at some point next year, alongside multiple budget-friendly $75 smartphones.
CyanogenMod 13 nightlies are now available for 7 phones and tablets.
One of the important features of Android 6.0 Marshmallow is expandable storage, which makes an SD card an extension of the internal storage of a device.
Note that the nightly releases CyanogenMod is now offering are still rather experimental.
