“Mob Wives” reality star Angela “Big Ang” Raiola died almost a year after being diagnosed with throat cancer.
Ang is survived by her two kids, Raquel and Anthony, and six grandkids, along with a virtual legion of close friends and fans.
Reality TV star Angela “Big Ang” Raiola has died aged 55 after a battle against cancer. “Her head was shaved, but it fit her”, Gravano tells us (and yes, Big Ang had her lashes on until the very end).
Raiola told Radar Online in January that she and Murphy had split.
In March 2015 Big Ang was diagnosed with throat cancer when a tumor the size of a lemon was found to be blocking her airway making it hard to breathe. “This little bundle of joy is what makes it all worth while”, Raiola posted on her Instagram page. According to the network’s site, Raiola was the niece of Salvatore “Sally Dogs” Lombardi, who was a reported captain of the Genovese crime family. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Big Ang Raiola’s family. “I felt like he never stepped up to the plate, so I was done with it”, she said. This time around, however, her cancer was not discovered until it was at a Stage 4 and had spread to her lungs and to her brain. “Please respect her family and their privacy at this time”, the statement read. “I really don’t like to talk too much about her health because I feel it’s really for her. But the cancer did come back, sadly it’s stage four”.
