Angelina Jolie Removes her Ovaries and Fallopian Tubes to Prevent Ovarian Cancer
Angelina Jolie, the mother of six and the brave wife of Brad Pitt, declared that she removed her ovaries as well as fallopian tubes after experiencing the terrifying the fear of cancer.
The U.N. envoy, actress, as well as director previously underwent a surgery, preventative mastectomy, in 2013. And now she opened up about her latest moves in experiencing another surgery. She frankly wrote about her surgery in the leading New York Times of 24th March, and she described her horrifying experiences in the blood test for cancer screening.
She wrote, “I went through what I imagine thousands of other women have felt.” She also wrote, “I told myself to stay calm, to be strong, and that I had no reason to think I wouldn’t live to see my children grow up and to meet my grandchildren.”
Jolie continued, “I called my husband in France, who was on a plane within hours. The beautiful thing about such moments in life is that there is so much clarity. You know what you live for and what matters. It is polarizing, and it is peaceful.”
Jolie wrote further about her feelings of for the five days when she would need to wait to know the results of her tests. Though the result was not so horrifying but still she had the options to remove her ovaries as well as fallopian tubes, and she went for it.
Though Jolie has now entered into her untimely menopause but she is not regretting for this issue. She said, “I will not be able to have any more children, and I expect some physical changes.” Angelina also said, “But I feel at ease with whatever will come, not because I am strong but because this is a part of life. It is nothing to be feared.”
