Angelina Starrer “Maleficent” Crosses Box Office Record of $500 Million
A fantasy adventure and Angelina Jolie starrer “Maleficent” has successfully crossed the record of $500 million and rated as “Best Performance in the Box Office Ever”.
At the theaters across the world, its competitors and new movies “22 Jump Street” “Think Like a Man” and “How to Train Your Dragon 2” are running successfully. A box office report suggested that Maleficent has collected around $521 million from all the theatres in the world. The movie has collected $185 million only from the US market and its international market collection is $335 million.
With this movie, Angelina Jolie has given best performance in the box office. She has also starred in several Hollywood blockbusters, including “Lara Croft: Tomb Raider” (2011) which had reportedly collected around $270 million across the world. Before it, “Salt” which was her hit movie in 2011 made $290 million and “Mr. and Mrs. Smith” which was her one of the popular movies in 2005 crossed around $470 million.
The storyline of Maleficent revolves around a revengeful fairy who curses an unborn child after getting ditched by a person whom she trusted. Angelina Jolie, herself, played the role of vengeful fairy. Later, she realized that the cursed baby was proved as the part of happiness of the kingdom and he brought love and peace in her heart.
Including “Think Like a Man”, the movie which is running in the charts made around $30 million, other movies which are running successfully across the world are “How to Train Your Dragon 2” earned $171 million and “22 Jump Street” made around $149 million.
This week, the upcoming and most awaited movies are “Drones,” “Snow Piercer” and “Transformers: Age of Extinction”. By July 11, next most awaited film is “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes”.
