Angels and Blue Jays play three and Toronto wins all
The Toronto Blue Jays (69-55) and the Texas Rangers (64-59) are two of the hottest teams in the American League and both are pushing their way toward post-season spots. That deficit has since been erased due to a 19-4 stretch following the Tulowitzki deal.
Angels manager Mike Scioscia knows it well.
Argos president Chris Rudge said if the Blue Jays reached the World Series, CFL games scheduled for Oct. 17 and Oct. 23 would also be displaced. 393 while punishing Angels pitching for 36 runs to further add to their already sizable Major League Baseball lead in that category.
– 1B Mitch Moreland had a two-run double in Sunday’s victory over Detroit but prior to that was mired in a 2-for-21 slump.
Edwin Encarnacion and Josh Donaldson have been at the forefront of the barrage.
This week, a seventh team has emerged as the Texas Rangers now sit 1.5 games up for the second Wild Card.
Encarnacion is batting. 414 with five homers and 18 RBIs during the streak. It was a heck of a series. He’s hitting.342/.429/.776 with nine home runs in August to Trout’s.205/.333/.321 and one home run. “We’ve been doing it all year”.
The CFL team had made a contingency plan just in case the red-hot Blue Jays make it to October. He pitched 8 innings, giving up 6 hits and 2 runs, with 9 strike outs and a walk. Mark Buehrle gets the ball, and he’s 13-6 with a 3.45 ERA and 75 strikeouts this season. The Texas Rangers have won nine of their last 10 home games.
The Blue Jays were active participants in the trade deadline, shoring up their roster for a postseason run and have expectedly been playing well since.
Buehrle allowed more than three earned runs for the first time since May 29 on Wednesday, when he surrendered four in as many innings in a loss at Philadelphia. He had been 7-1 with a 2.16 ERA over his previous 13 starts.
