Angie Bowie was sick with grief for days
Following her departure from the Celebrity Big Brother house due to feeling “unwell for a few days”, Angie Bowie appeared on Loose Women to discuss her experience with the show.
Angie admits it “hurts” being estranged from her son but she would rather try to “close the door” and move on with her life than dwell on their divided relationship.
Former spouse of the late David Bowie, she was in the house when the news of his death broke, with the show receiving heavy criticism when it aired footage of her receiving the news.
Angie was informed of David’s death off camera while in the Celebrity Big Brother house. I don’t think anyone knew [David had cancer].
Angie then spoke of her estranged relationship with her son Duncan Jones, whom she had with Bowie, explaining why she didn’t fight for custody of him when her marriage fell apart.
“Our rancour with each other nearly kept us going and I realised I wasn’t angry anymore”. “But I realised the possibility that I would never hear from him again”.
A round of applause from the audience followed Angie Bowie’s answer, but the talk show host wasn’t satisfied, and attempted to continue the discussion, asking Bowie if she felt her and David’s son believed his mother had abandoned him in his best interest.
“It’s okay, it’s fine, but you soon unscramble the reality that they are data harvesting only for sorrow and chaos, they aren’t interested…” she continued. Asked if she believes he will contact her now his father is dead, she replies, “I doubt it. Uh-uh”. The teenager had to save her infant brother from Jareth the Goblin King, played by David. “Is that not disgusting behaviour?” “It wasn’t until somebody – a very caring, compassionate person – said something about, “You have a son together” and I thought, ‘That’s what it is”. Angie quickly put an end to the discussion, saying that she had no idea what Duncan thought, as she wasn’t him, and hadn’t seen him since he was “13 or 14”.
