Annabeth Gish Returning to Fox’s ‘X-Files’
A divisive character from The X-Files past is coming on board the revival.
“The X-Files” debuts January 24 on Fox.
The X-Files has recruited another familiar face for Fox’s upcoming revival.
Gish first appeared on “The X-Files” beginning with the 2001 episode “This Is Not Happening”, in which Agent Reyes helps Agent Doggett (Robert Patrick) investigating the sudden reappearance of several UFO abductees. Last year, she had a recurring role on the final season of “Sons of Anarchy“. During a recent interview with The Mary Sue, Patrick said “I’m not going to do it. …I’m very happy with the job I have”. “So the same I feel about with John Doggett and the X-Files“. I’m on CBS-that’s a different network-and I’m content and happy and I don’t really see a reason to go and revisit that show.
Other returning original members include Mitch Pileggi as Federal Bureau of Investigation official Walter Skinner, and William B. Davis will return as the mysterious Cigarette Smoking Man. Tom Braidwood, Dean Haglund and Bruce Harwood are also back as the fan favorite conspiracy-obsessed trio the Lone Gunmen.
Annabeth Gish (Pretty Little Liars) will reprise her role of FBI agent Monica Reyes in an episode of the six-part event series, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. And they’ll be joined by the likes of Lauren Ambrose, Joel McHale, Robbie Amell, Rhys Darby and Annet Mahendru.
