Annie Lennox’s daughter in kayaking accident
The kayaker, identified as Ian Jones, 32, was kayaking with his girlfriend, Tali Fruchtmann, 22, also of New York City, on Saturday morning when their kayak capsized, Dutchess County Sheriff’s Capt. John Watterson said in a press release.
Authorities said Tali, the second daughter of the Eurythmics star, was rescued by crew in a passing boat. As of 5:30 pm, August 8, 2015, Mr. Jones has not been located, and the search is expected to be suspended sometime tonight.
At this point the incident does not appear to be criminal in nature and no foul play is suspected, the statement said.
“Once the two got in the water it was hard for them to stay together”.
Watterson said that neither Lennox nor Jones was wearing a life jacket.
Videos from the scene show rescue boats scouring the river.
“The Hudson can have incredible undercurrents which makes it hard for even the strongest of swimmers”.
According to the Poughkeepsie Journal, “The sheriff’s department described Jones as a white male, 6-foot-3 with a slim build, dark hair, wearing jeans and a denim shirt”.
Authorities are searching for a kayaker in the Hudson River, not far from where another kayaking problem evolved into a murder charge earlier this year.
But prosecutors said Miss Graswald later admitted to tampering with the kayak as part of a plot to kill him and collect his $250.00 life insurance policy.
