Announce date of Ram temple construction: Shiv Sena asks Mohan Bhagwat
Criticising the slew of programs planned by BJP’s ideological affiliate, Vishwa Hindu Parishad in the Ayodhya to mark the 23rd anniversary of mosque demolition, Nitish said, “They are only politicising the issue for their gains.
The government is functioning keeping aside the issue of Common Civil Code, Ram Mandir, Article 370 etc. Meanwhile, the Ram Temple issue raised by Mohan Bhagwat has to be answered only by the BJP”, said the editorial.
“If the BJP is serious, it should specify a date for the construction of the temple”, Mr Kumar remarked, pointing to the demand of BJP ally Shiv Sena, which, too, has demanded a date.
“I am hopeful that the way the son of Gujarat, Sardar Patel, got Somnath temple built, in the same manner, the son of Gujarat Narendra Modi, who is firm on will power, will decide about the construction of a huge Ram temple”, Togadia said at a public meeting here.
When Mr Kumar joined hands with BJP in ’95 October, it was only after an understanding that the party will not rake up three contentious issues – construction of Ram temple, the Article 370 and Uniform Civil Code. The VHP leader said he was “hopeful” that under the leadership of Modi, work on a Ram Temple will be completed.
“The issue of Ram Mandir now can not be delayed. The blood that has been shed over the issue should not be disrespected”, the Sena, which is an NDA constituent, said. “May be we can see it with our own eyes”. Giving a call to Hindus to stay prepared to construct a grand Ram Mandir, he said the holy men should stay ready to follow direction.
