Anonymous Announced Their Next Target: Donald Trump
Earlier this week a handle claiming to be “Anonymous Operations” posted a video on YouTube with the message: “The more the United States appears to be targeting Muslims, not just radical Muslims, you can be sure that ISIS will be putting that on their social media campaign”.
Here’s part of the script from the Anonymous video, which depicts the speaker wearing a Guy Fawkes mask.
In the Reuters poll, Trump led the pack of candidates seeking the Republican nomination with 35 percent of support from Republican voters, the same lead he held before Monday, when he said Muslim immigrants, students and other travelers should be barred from entering the country.
His most contentious comments saw him call for an outright ban on Muslims entering the US.
“Donald Trump, think twice before you speak anything”, the spokesperson continued. “You have been warned Mr. Donald Trump”.
Trump, though, isn’t the only person on Anonymous’ list of targets.
“Without looking at the various polling data, it is obvious to anybody the hatred [against America] is beyond comprehension”, Trump said in the statement, as reported by Yahoo!
The hacktivist group reportedly shut down the Trump Tower website, TrumpTowerNY.com, through limiting access through a distributed denial of service (DDoS) attack that temporarily paralyzed it. The site is frequently used as a command center for Trump’s presidential campaign.
TechCrunch also notes that Anonymous has named Friday, December 11 “ISIS Trolling Day” and is encouraging sympathizers to upload images and memes that poke fun at the jihadist group’s iconography and goals.
