Anonymous Knockoff Donald Trump’ Website Against Anti-Muslim Speech
The group’s warning to Trump came days after the outspoken billionaire proposed to temporarily bar Muslims from entering the United States in response to last week’s shooting spree in San Bernardino by two Muslims who the Federal Bureau of Investigation said had been radicalised.
The figure in the video continued by arguing that the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) wants the U.S.to ban Muslims from entering the country in an effort to make them more easily recruitable.
Remember a couple of months ago a hacker defaced Donald Trump’s official website with a tribute message for Jon Stewart? You have been warned, Mr. Donald Trump.
Trump’s comments surrounding Muslims have garnered harsh criticism from many, including the White House.
As part of the #OpTrump hacking campaign, Anonymous targeted Trump’s website trumptowerny.com on Wednesday night in a distributed denial of service attack, according to the International Business Times.
An Anonymous-associated Twitter account said on Friday that the group had taken down the website for New York City’s Trump Towers as a “statement against racism and hatred”.
Watch the above video from the Anonymous Operations YouTube channel. “You have been warned”, the video says. We are Anonymous. We are legion. The group asks people to take to social media and upload comical memes and images mocking ISIS using hashtags popularly used by ISIS members.
A spokesperson for Trump Towers was not immediately reachable for a comment. Recently released polls indicate that his ideas have not made an impact on the level of support Trump receives in the GOP primary.
