Another Camera Found in Starbucks Restroom
Kim Baldonado reports for the NBC4 News at 6 p.m. on Monday, August 17, 2015.
A man suspected of spying on customers with a hidden camera at a Starbucks location in Brea has been arrested, police said Tuesday.
The woman, who had been out to dinner with friends last Friday night, made a stop at the coffee shop at 101 W. Imperial Highway in Brea.
“We are in full cooperation with the La Habra Police Department to help identify the outside party that violated the safety and security of both our guests and employees; a matter that is of the utmost importance to Del Taco”, the company said in a statement. That picture is posted on the Brea Police Facebook and Twitter pages. She used paper towels to remove it in case there were fingerprints on it.
The device was a miniature video camera, police said.
The lab was able to identify the device as a small video camera, and a preliminary investigation revealed that a number of people were recorded using the Starbucks bathroom.
This is the second time in less than two months that a hidden camera has been found in a Starbuck’s restroom in the Southern California area. The customer pulled out out and called police.
He is believed to be about 35 years old and was wearing black shirt with white stripes on the sleeves.
