Another day lost in Bangalore
Play has been abandoned for the third successive day in the second Test between India and South Africa in Bangalore due to the inclement weather.
However, in the morning itself, the umpires inspected the field and said that, the match would be resuming in the afternoon, if the field is found satisfactory for the goal. However, the damp conditions coupled with a steady drizzle did not allow the resumption of proceedings at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
With just the final day’s play remaining – weather permitting – the Test is headed for a tame draw.
At the end of day three, India are 80 for the loss of no wickets in their first innings, after bowling out South Africa for 214 runs.
South Africa, who had earlier won the One-Day global (ODI) and Twenty20 worldwide (T20I) series, were undone by the Indian spinners to be bowled out for 184, with AB de Villiers putting up a fighting knock of 63.
