Another fight breaks out at a Florida Publix
At least that was the case in Temple Terrace last week when a brawl broke out after a customer ordering chicken wings became angry at an employee.
Publix grocery store got into a huge brawl on September 16 after Raleigh Harris, 59, was “rude” to a deli worker and used racial slurs, according to WFLA.
Witnesses said a customer got into a verbal altercation with a deli employee about a chicken wing. “The guy that was ordering chicken was like running around the deli being chased by these other customers”, she added.
There’s something about Publix that seems to put people in a dueling move, because this is the THIRD brawl caught on video at the supermarket in as many months. When 25-year-old Leon Travis Lightbody overheard Harris speaking disrespectfully to the female employee he jumped in the conversation and took up for the woman.
Other shoppers joined in the mix and punches and expletives and n-words started raining down.
A spokesman for Publix said no one was seriously hurt in the incident. Fortunately, no injuries occurred.
Lightbody, of Tampa, was later arrested on a battery charge as well as a probation violation related to a 2014 grand theft and burglary case, jail records showed. The safety and well-being of our associates and customers is our first priority.
