Another injury blow: Sean Lee leaves Cowboys-Saints game with concussion
It’s the second consecutive season the Cowboys and Saints are meeting in the fourth game of the year for both clubs. “Aside from just working the fundamentals and technique of catching the football, part of it is calming down and saying, ‘Listen, you do this, and not only do it, but do it well.’ That is kind of what went into the decision right after (the muffed punts) happened”.
Who’s picking the Dallas Cowboys to improve to 3-1 with a victory against the New Orleans Saints at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome? One might think the absence of Drew Brees for a game might have brought them down, but the Saints offense under Brees actually averaged less yards than they did with Luke McCown last week. I feel a lot better, obviously, today then I did last week.
On the other side, Brandon Weeden and the Cowboys were rolling along against the Falcons last week until halftime.
So what does this mean going into the game with the New Orleans Saints?
Dallas Cowboys linebacker Sean Lee has been diagnosed with a concussion and ruled out for the remainder of Sunday night’s game against the New Orleans Saints. Brees never took himself out of that game, but did not appear to perform at his normally high standard, finishing 24 of 38 for 255 yards, a touchdown and an interception. Hicks was benched recently for poor play and the depth chart for TE’s has been down to two since the start of the season. The Saints will have their leader Drew Brees back but so far this season that has not been enough.
Last week, Carolina’s Cam Newton had great success attacking Browner, who is a good play when in the right defensive scheme defensively.
Always comfortable near the line of scrimmage, strong safety Kenny Vaccaro had a few success against Olsen, although the tight end did catch a perfectly thrown ball from Newton despite Vaccaro being in good position. Joseph Randle ranks among the league leaders in yards after contact and is averaging a respectable 4.2 yards per carry as the lead back.
I don’t get paid by the FanSided Network to blow smoke up your butt and tell you that the sun is shining when it’s pouring down raining outside. This team will be better equipped to take on their opponents this week. Putting all of the Saints’ missing starters on the field at the same time while hoping those additions on their individual offensive and defensive units can find their groove may be too much to ask for at this point.
The key was the Saints forced three turnovers that night and the Saints’ offense turned that into a runaway win.
