Another Leak Of BlackBerry’s So Called Android Phone Appears
BlackBerry is not yet dead.
In earlier months, rumors of an Android-run BlackBerry have been making their rounds since the company unveiled their latest flagship device. It is also said that BlackBerry could replace some Google services with its own.
BlackBerry Venice will reportedly run Android 5.1 Lollipop right-out-of-the-box.
It also supposedly comes with the firm’s trademark keyboard that can be pulled from below the touchscreen.
Once the leader of the smartphone industry with its business-oriented QWERTY devices, BlackBerry later became the underdog after Apple’s iPhone and Samsung’s Galaxy devices gained more popularity. Dubbed as the BlackBerry Venice, the new phone looks to be any other signature smartphone nowadays – a slick build with a combination of rounded and edged form factor. A GIF posted inside the tweet (which we’ve embedded as a YouTube video) shows the BlackBerry Productivity Suite running on the BlackBerry Venice slider.
Meanwhile, another mysterious device, which looks very much like the BlackBerry Passport released past year, has no official codename yet. Although this phone could load Android apps, users still had to go through Amazon’s app store to have access to a limited list of apps.
Has Blackberry finally admitted defeat and switched over to Android?
Aside from the images, Blass also stated that fans can expect the BlackBerry Venice to make its way to the market soon, with four major U.S. carriers offering the device by November.
