Antetokounmpo ties career scoring high, Bucks rout Cavs
Milwaukee outscored the Cavaliers in the quarter, 34-20, to grab a 92-74 lead. Most of the Bucks’ baskets came rather easily.
Having a player like Antetokounmpo in the lineup gives Kidd and the Bucks a lot of versatility.
Lue pulled his starting group and turned things over to the bench with 6:03 to play. The Bucks attacked the center of their defense all night with little resistance. It’s unavoidable. Most have seen it, including those in the Bucks’ locker room where the blunder was part of the postgame chatter.”Oh yeah, that was a timeout play”, Giannis Antetokounmpo said after tying his career high with 34 points.
Monroe is averaging career lows with 17.6 minutes, 8.6 points and 6.6 rebounds per game. He could’ve said he blew it, he didn’t know they were inbounding the ball so quickly and that it wouldn’t happen again.
The interest is understandable, as Gay is averaging 19.6 points, 6.3 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game. He hit two free throws after being fouled by James, dunked off a pass from Dellavedova and scored on a putback.
Iman Shumpert provided his own highlight, with a bump, set, spike put-back from a Mike Dunleavy miss. “Milwaukee scored 118 points with only 7 threes”.
The Clippers started the game without Blake Griffin, ended it without ejected coach Doc Rivers and dropped their third straight game by blowing an 18-point lead.
In the end, it’s hard to be upset with a November loss for the defending champions. “Our guys that came in, they played as well as they could, for sure”.
In New Orleans, Anthony Davis had 41 points and 16 rebounds, helping the Pelicans dominate short-handed Los Angeles. Let’s look behind the box score at this Cavaliers loss and other action around the National Basketball Association.
For the ninth year running, Carnevor was the restaurant of choice for about a dozen players from the 2016 NBA Champion Cleveland Cavaliers, who are in town for their showdown tonight against the Milwaukee Bucks. Jefferson, who joined the Cavaliers last season and often shared the court with Dellavedova in the second unit, extolled Dellavedova’s work ethic, saying,”if Delly worked 5% less he might not be in this league. At some point, we’re going to be clicking on all cylinders, we feel like we’re trying to hold up our end of the bargain as best we can”.
15 – The number of steals for Milwaukee. Not this time. The Bucks had 13 dunks, many of them complete with running starts and full windups.
Gay can be a light version of Durant because of his length and shooting ability, and his presence could conceivably make OKC the Western Conference’s second- or third-best team behind the Warriors and Spurs. This is up from 11.6 past year.
What’s up with the Bucks: They feature a familiar face in Matthew Dellavedova, who signed with Milwaukee this off-season following three seasons with the Wine and Gold.
