San Francisco 49ers safety Eric Reid called the discussion a great starting point, but he would continue to protest “until we get more concrete plans and to where I feel like I don’t need to protest anymore because the National Football League is providing a better platform”. Kaepernick has been known to be very close friends with Shaun King, an outspoken leader of the Black Lives Matter movement. He visited the Obama White House, lectured at Yale, and ran for mayor of Baltimore.
