Anthony Joshua-Wladimir Klitschko heavyweight title fight set for April
But the 27-year-old is eyeing a unification fight with legendary Ukranian fight Klitschko next year. But when they get in the ring, and maybe a bit before, Molina will want to get in Joshua’s head, wind him up a bit.
“He also said that he’s spotted three or four weaknesses in me, well I’ve spotted 10 or 13 in him so first come first served”.
“If I want to fight Haye, I’ll fight Haye”.
After the talks of the “Super-Fight” – between Joshua and Wladimir Klitschko – nearly inevitably didn’t come into fruition, Joshua needed an opponent, so Molina, represented by Don King, valiantly crossed the pond to make it happen.
Ultimately McCracken would love to see Anthony become the world’s undisputed heavyweight champion.
In a recent interview he said “before I fought Deontay Wilder I had only 35 days to train, and this time I will have five weeks”. I have also sparred with Anthony and although he is a very talented young man and very hyped up he does not yet have the experience of fighting an elite champion’.
Joshua’s Achilles heel at present is his inexperience, but he is proving himself to be a fast learner and so far he has handled every challenge thrown at him in style. That has not crossed my mind. I am not seeing it or considering it as the end of my career.
I think not and I expect Drummer Boy will be happy enough to take Joshua a few rounds which might be enough to earn him another title opportunity down the line. Now my view is altered. Now I don’t have the titles my motivation is high as the sky. “There’s a lot of energy in the heavyweight division”. That’s what I’m excited about.
‘Retire? Not while I’m healthy.
“I can finish in five years provided everything goes to plan”. Hopefully not before I reunify all the titles again’.
On Joshua’s own place in that scene, Wilder added: “When one guy is doing good, it makes all the others want to achieve greatness”.
Not to worry. Klitschko says: ‘I don’t think about how long I can continue’. “But he’s pretty decent fighter already and he’s got real power”. Wladimir Klitschko – who ruled the division for almost a decade but has been inactive since losing his IBF, WBA and WBO belts on points to Tyson Fury last November – lies in wait for Joshua (17-0, 17 KOs), possibly at Wembley Stadium in London. Like I say Molina’s no easy opponent. I’m looking forward to 2017 and actually being in the ring.
He chuckles: ‘Who knows?
“I see it in his footwork, in his punch evasion or lack of, I see it in his speed of punches, tempo, rhythm – I see it in every part”. And right now I feel great’. Hes coming to win because its a chance for him to win a world title, and hell definitely push Joshua.
