Anthony Mackie Doesn’t Want A Solo Falcon Movie
But most of all, the film had Anthony Mackie as the Falcon.
Whilst it’s cool that Mackie is as buddy-buddy with Chris Evans off-screen as their characters are on film (and in the comics), and that he wouldn’t want to do a Falcon movie for lack of being able to hang out with him, the real problem might actually be that a Falcon solo movie sounds kind of boring. This means that there would be no Chris Evans or Sebastian Stan working alongside him. With a character who has had an increasing presence in the Marvel universe, it makes sense that people would be interested in finding out when a solo Falcon movie might happen. Kate [Winslet] is admirable. “Sebastian [Stan] is not going to be there”.
He was told that it was always possible that his Captain America co-stars could make cameos in a potential solo film.
It’s a surprising answer considering that Marvel will be looking for new heroes once they move into Phase Four and the run of Captain America and Thor films comes to an end. Hey, maybe he’s angling for a solo Captain America movie instead.
Could Mackie change his mind at some point?
After the initial dismissal, Mackie really doesn’t seem to be convinced.
Captain America: Civil War will hit theaters on May 6.
