Anxious about image, Trump turns down a few ‘SNL’ skits
So if you happen, y’know, by chance to be in the audience for this weeks Saturday Night Live, you could make yourself a handy 5k.
The group held signs and chanted Saturday while marching from Trump Tower to the network’s studios in Rockefeller Plaza.
The protest has reached the halls of power in Washington, D.C., where the Congressional Hispanic Caucus has issued a “statement of opposition” to Trump’s appearance. An off-screen heckler interrupted with a cry of “You’re a racist!”
“Larry, what are you doing?”
“It is irresponsible and risky for NBC to provide Trump with a free national platform to further fan the flames of racial intolerance”, the site says. “We saw the overwhelming response from Latino groups calling on SNL and its leadership in talking about his anti-immigrant comments, his racist comments”, Rashad Robinson, ColorOfChange.org executive director, told USA TODAY.
So was Trump amusing on SNL?
And only one of those politicians-slash-guest hosts was an active presidential candidate – the Rev. Al Sharpton, who was seeking the Democratic nomination when he hosted in December 2003.
Trump’s hosting gig has provoked outrage from those upset with his incendiary remarks on the campaign trail.
In a almost five-minute opening monologue, that saw him flanked by two lookalikes, he insisted: “I am a nice guy”.
“I think “inflammatory” is… a polite word for what he’s done”, Leguizamo said.
“Cecily Strong is not a nice person”.
“Kate McKinnon was born stupid”. “I won’t watch SNL anymore”. “But everyone in this sketch is a total loser who can bite my dust”. China is borrowing money from the U.S. Trump’s real-life daughter, Ivanka, is the administration’s secretary of the interior, and announces the Washington Monument will be covered with gold. “It’s going to be even better”, Trump said, addressing the audience.
