AP boy murdered as human sacrifice ritual; accused thrashed
In a weird incident, a five-year-old boy was allegedly murdered by a man in a suspected case of human sacrifice as a part of a witchcraft-related ritual in Prakasam district on 30 September.
Meanwhile, the mother of the kid went to the child care centre and upon knowing that her child was taken by Rao, she accompanied the villagers to Rao’s house.
In a gruesome instance of human sacrifice, a villager severed the head of a four-year-old child and offered his blood to Goddess Kali seeking “divine powers”. Soon after the incident came in light, angry villagers nabbed the accused and set him on fire.
He was admitted at a hospital where he was being treated for burns. His mother Adilakshmi got anxious when the boy did not return home and went to the anganwadi where he was studying. He was decapitated and the report described a “utensil” that was filled with blood.
Till the time, Police has reached in the village and with the help of a few locals succeeded to rescue Rao.
After the boy’s headless body was found, villagers launched a hunt for the suspect and caught him on the outskirts of the village where they doused him with kerosene and set him on fire. The couple chanced upon Rao’s brother, Venkata Rao, at the village centre. The teacher informed her that Rao had taken Sagar at 11 am. Though the police has registered the case against the accuse and are looking into the details but the question remains unanswered that how many humans will be sacrificed further in the name of rituals? “We will interrogate Rao once he recovers”, he added. “We found a rope from the residence which the accused might have used to strangle the boy”, said a police officer.
