Apple adding night mode, education features to iOS
Apple is known to throw in some pretty useful features when it updates its mobile operating system, from battery improvements to smarter notifications.
The most anticipated and talked about OS these days is the newest version of iOS i.e., iOS 9.3.
You can experience all the new features in iOS 9.3 by downloading its developer preview today.
In developing Night Shift, Apple cited research showing that exposure to bright blue light in the evening can affect your circadian rhythms and make it harder to fall asleep.
Night Shift will use your iPhone or iPad’s clock and geolocation to determine when it’s sunset. Er, I mean, “Night Shift”. Following in the footsteps of apps like F.lux, “Night Shift” figures out when the sun is setting wherever you are in the world and changes the colour of your display accordingly.
A clever addition to say the least. A new Classroom app offers a “bird’s eye” view of students and what apps they’re using.
It is, no matter how good an upgrade, a sideshow.
On Monday, Apple has released the beta version of iOS 9.3, which is now available only for developers.
Apple has had a busy period, after releasing its iOS 9 in September.
The Health app will better consolidate the dashboard to include move, exercise, stand and other goals. Or, you know, you could just install iOS 9.3 right now without a developer account. In the Health app, finding third party health applications is much easier.
CarPlay will add the ability to see nearby gas stations, parking options and local businesses. iOS will also enable multiple Apple Watches to be paired with a single iPhone. You can now lock certain Notes and also sort them according to date created, date modified or alphabetically.
Users will not have to worry about their confidential information saved on Apple’s Notes app because the company is working to make it safer and secure in the newest beta.
