Apple has no plans to build an iPad-MacBook hybrid
After all, this is the biggest, most powerful tablet that Apple has ever made. The Apple iPad Pro will also come with Touch ID, an 8MP camera, four audio speakers and more.
Last week, Cook described Microsoft’s Surface Book as “diluted”, and he told Independent.ie that customers aren’t looking for a “converged Mac and iPad”.
The iPad Pro has a lot going for it, so I’m not at all surprised that there are folks out there that want to pick one up.
The 12.9-inch iPad Pro – 78% larger and at $799, 60% more expensive than the iPad Air 2 – is aimed squarely at this demographic. The reason Apple has introduced the pencil, is that unlike the iPhone, the iPad Pro is designed as a professional productivity tool rather than a consumer device. The case firmly holds your iPad Pro in the flawless viewing angle within a 60-degree range.
You might think having an iPad Pro without the Apple Pencil makes no sense, but demand for the digital stylus means you might need to go without for a while.
That’s not especially surprising seeing as Apple is spruiking their all new iPad Pro which is being touted having “PC-like performance”. The keyboard itself has the same general layout as a MacBook Air or Pro, except it also boasts a few iPad-specific shortcut keys. My urge to early adopt the iPad Pro is strong, though, so we’ll just have to see how it turns out. A new report from the teardown experts reveals a tough-to-repair device that makes some interesting internal design choices.
From a distance the device looks like any other iPad that is thin and build up of aluminum body. At the start of the ad, it shows a highly vivid close up of the solar system which then zooms out to reveal that is being displayed on the iPad Pro’s Retina display.
