Apple iPad Mini 4 Renders Leaked Online, suggest 6.1mm thickness
Was Apple going to discontinue the iPad mini line? Moreover, the earlier reports claimed that the new iPad mini will borrow designs from the iPad Air 2.
The leaked iPad mini 4 renderings propose that it will be insane thin with iPad Air 2 design.
Apple’s upcoming “iPad Mini 4” would be 6.1 millimeters thick. The current iPad mini 3 is 7.5mm in thickness, so that’s a major degree of slimming down if this speculation is correct – and given the smaller frame of the compact iPad, this will be an even more portable and convenient device to carry around (presumably it will weigh a bit less, too). But the next 7.9-inch model may also mimic the iPad Air 2’s 8-megapixel rear-facing camera and completely laminated display with anti-reflective coating, and could pack in 2GB of RAM.
There is no word on when we can expect the next budget iPad, but some speculate it may arrive in September during the annual Apple iPhone event.
Previous rumors also indicated Apple may launch a larger iPad Pro tablet for businesses and organizations by the end of the year. Apple tends to unveil iPads in October, and it is highly unlikely the tech company will change the schedule any time soon.
The iPad mini 3 wasn’t a huge upgrade from its predecessor, offering just one new reason to buy: Touch ID. And having a next-generation iPad mini that’s as slim as this device would be a natural move for Cupertino to make.
