Apple iPhone 5s Prices Slashed Down To Rs 24999
Apple Inc. unveiled latest iterations of its smart phone, forecasted to be the 6S and 6S Plus.
IPhone 5s costs now begins at Rs 24,999 as compared to Rs 44,500 in the month of September. According to trade sources, the United States tech giant’s latest move is triggered by its plans to double India sales in the crucial December quarter, a high sales period for Apple globally as it’s the launch period of new iPhones.
According to the report, if the rumor is true, then the iPhone 6c is expected to be the most affordable smartphone among the iPhone product lines.
“Kuo believes that Apple wants to meet its customers’ demand for a smaller iPhone, adding that the company could sell 20 million units over the course of a year”.
Apple iPhone 5s with 16GB storage is now available on Infibeam for Rs 21,899.
As a reminder, iPhone 5s comes with 4-inch retina display with a pixel density of 326ppi. Nevertheless, both KGI Securities and 9to5Mac analyst named Ming-Chi Kuo noted that the new iPhone 6c might instead arrive in either in March or April, MacWorld UK reported.
Retail merchants said that iPhone 5s makes up around 50 per cent of overall iPhone sale figures in the nation.
“The $250-400 (Rs 16,000-Rs 27,000) price band is where Apple wants to focus its energies in India since they want to lock in more consumers into their eco-system which would build up a base for upgradation when newer iPhones are launched”, told Tarun Pathak, senior telecom analyst at Counterpoint Research, to ET.
Timothy Arcuri of Cown & Company said, “I think one of the reasons (Apple reportedly cancelled an iPhone 6C) is because the iPhone 6 has sold so well”.
For Indians, buying an iphone was a dream, in view of its price.
